What I’m Currently Listening To

Seeker Lover Keeper - Self Titled 

So if your Australian and know a little bit about the alternitve music scene, you have probly heard of either Sally Seltmann, Sarah Blasko or Holly Thonsby. Or all three. Well to my deliet, they’ve come together and have a baby by the name of “seeker lover keeper.”

The whole album is pretty stunning. All of them are incredibly talented singer/songwriters so it’s no suprise the quality is top notch. Most of the music has quite a dreamy, earthy feel to it. They use a lot of harmonies, and keyboards on this.

The album peaks at “Even though I’m a women” a beautiful song about guilt “I’d be lying if I did not say, I love you more when I’m missing you” Its one of the best songs I’ve heard in a while.

Highly recommended.

Glycerine  - Bush

This is a very simple song. But when I say that, I mean in the most beautiful, potent way possible. Everyone has those songs that make them want to cry and smile at the same time, and you don’t even know quite why. This is one of those songs for me.

I can’t tell you exactly what this song does me, or even why it touches me in such a way. Maybe it’s beautiful lyrics “You treated me bad, bruised my face, couldn’t love you more you’ve got a beautiful taste” or the simplicity of those 4 chords, or the use of chellos in rock song, a risky thing to do in the 1995 grunge scene.

Some bands write one truly incredible song in their lives, and this was it for Bush.
